Hey, It's almost Friday! I'm looking forward to the weekend! We're going to watch the Mavericks competition this weekend! It'll be the first time we've been able to go. Other times seem to land on weekdays. It should be exciting!
I'm also getting ready to visit my sister in CO! Mom will be there too! I'm really looking forward to it, but will also miss Matthew ALOT. Hopefully I'll get to see some friends still in the Denver area. I'm excited cause I get to see mom too! I'll also get to see my God daughter! :) I can't believe she's two!!!
I got an email at work today notifying me that I had reached my vacation time accrual limit! Plus I have a 6 week sabbatical coming up! :) Somebody's telling me to take some vacation! :) LOL....

Winter Storm

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all that JAZZ. Our Holiday turned out to be relaxing, but a little on the uneventful side. I had a nasty cold all week and am still getting over the tail end of it. We enjoyed many hours indoors and away from the crowds. I felt bad for Matt since I wasn't in the mood for much excitement. We did take a couple of trips over the hill for shopping as Matt wanted a new tool box and we had to care for our friends pets while they were on vacation in Hawaii!

This weekend has been stormy!! On Thursday night and into Friday morning, we had hurricane force winds and TONS of rain. We were out of power from 8am until 430pm Friday. Had to start the generator to keep the salt water aquarium going. We used it to keep the pellet stove and fridge going as well. The power came on just in time to make dinner. This morning we woke to rain and by noon it was a full fledged storm with thunder, lightning, hail and rain. It cleared up enough around 3pm to clean up the deck. Matt raked up a giant pile of pine needles and tree droppings! We then took a quick walk down to the ocean to check out the giant waves! The water must have come up to the road during the storm as there were giant stumps and pieces of drift wood all over the side of the road. The winter storm has definitely wreaked havoc in the Bay area!

Well,it's getting to be dinner time! Tacos on the menu!!! :) MMMMMMM Tacos!!!!

Sand and Sea Glass

Today was a beautiful day on the coast. Matt and I walked down to the beach and searched for sea glass for about 2 hours. It was cool enough to need a jacket, and the sun kept us warm. We searched for sea glass while dodging soft gentle waves. We found two hand fulls of beautiful sea glass and a few full, small sand dollars. One of the pieces was a yellowish green color that we've never seen before. I'm going to do some research to find out what it might be. The beach was so quiet today! Everybody must be getting ready for Christmas. We're really enjoying this time off.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Last Minute Items

Happy Saturday! I can't believe I haven't posted in a while. It's been a really busy week. Trying to prepare work items so that I can be gone for a whole week without worrying about it, Christmas shopping after work, baking, etc, etc....Well, I made it to vacation time!!!

Today I'm finishing up the last minute baking, cleaning the house and relaxing!

Enjoy your weekend! Hopefully you don't have to brave the malls for your last minute gifts!

Friends

Hello again! We had a wonderful weekend! On Friday night we drove 2hrs east to visit our friends Justin, Kelli and Alexia. It was really nice to spend time with them! It had been way too long since we last saw them. Alexia is getting so big! I can't believe she's two already! We had a wonderful time with them on Saturday! THANKS JK&A!!!!

Well, I finally got out most of the Christmas cards! Finished most of the Christmas shopping!!! Sorry Mom and Dad (W) and Erin, yours will be late! Have some baking to do for co-worker gifts and such. I'm going to try somethings I've never made before! Hope they taste good! I'm looking forward to vacation! Only 4 more days....they will be VERY busy, but well worth it!

Just received a letter today from some college friends from CO. (It's nice to get caught up on family and friend info during the Holiday Season in those wonderful family letters!) Tammy and Eric now have a little girl!!! (well, she joined the world in April! I'm a little behind on things). They've also moved out of CO and Eric is going to MedSchool!!! Congrats to them on all of the life changes!

Well.....those household chores are calling my name!!!! TTFN

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Yes, Can you believe it's that time of year again? What happened to 2007?
The Christmas tree is finally finished, all 8 1/2 feet and 1400 blinding lights! It's actually quite beautiful (Thanks Jim and Kay!) Have you all finished your Christmas shopping yet? No?, well don't worry, I haven't either! Not much time left!

This year we decided to stay home on the coastside for Christmas. This will be a much needed session of R'n'R for both of us. Hopefully we'll also get to see some out-of-town friends and share a glass of wine or two with some local friends. I look forward to several winter walks on the beach and many hot cups of coco.

The weather here on the coast requires warm winter hats, scarves and gloves in the morning and late afternoons. Nothing like the snow boots and winter coats of Colorado. I do believe we've become "Californized"....lol...45F is COLD now!!!! LOL...

We had our last dirt bike trip two weekends ago...it was cold and windy, but boy did the guys have fun. The youngest of the starks family did his first solo lap around the mini-track! Before we know it he'll be chasing after Matt and Gerry! Hopefully we'll get to go in early January. Can't wait to get back out there!

Happy Birthday SIS!!!! I love you!

Well....that's all for now! LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW....
